First Moon Images Released by Chandrayaan-3 Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released a video of the Pragyan rover rolling out on the moon’s surface from the Vikram lander. The video was taken on August 23, 2023, and shows the rover slowly crawling out of the lander’s belly.

The rover is about the size of a microwave oven and is equipped with a variety of instruments to study the lunar surface. It will spend the next few months exploring the South Pole of the moon, where it will look for signs of water ice and other resources.

The successful deployment of the rover is a major milestone for the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The mission was originally scheduled to launch in 2018, but it was delayed due to technical problems. The lander and rover finally launched on August 22, 2023, and landed on the moon two days later.

The deployment of the rover is a major achievement for ISRO and a significant step forward for India’s space program. The rover is the first to be deployed on the moon’s South Pole, and it will provide valuable data about this unexplored region.

The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the ISRO team. The mission has also inspired a new generation of scientists and engineers in India.

Here are some of the reactions to the successful deployment of the Pragyan rover:

  • “This is a historic moment for India and for the world. The successful deployment of the Pragyan rover is a major achievement for ISRO and a significant step forward for India’s space program.” – Dr. K. Sivan, Chairman, ISRO
  • “The Pragyan rover is a marvel of engineering. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the ISRO team.” – Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman, ISRO
  • “The successful deployment of the Pragyan rover is a source of pride for all Indians. It is a reminder of our country’s growing capabilities in the field of space exploration.” – A young scientist at ISRO

The successful deployment of the Pragyan rover is a major milestone for the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The mission has the potential to make significant contributions to our understanding of the moon and its resources. It is also a major boost for India’s space program and a source of pride for all Indians.
