An officer spotted the KIA van driving on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of speed and almost crashing at an intersection, police say. The van also ran a stop sign before the officer tried to pull it over.
The driver, who was the boy’s mother, crashed the van, police say. The boy was not buckled in or in a booster seat, but he survived the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.
The boy’s 2-year-old sibling was buckled in a car seat and also survived the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.
The mother and her two children were all taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the crash and no charges have been filed at this time.
