The winners of the 69th National Film Awards were honored at a ceremony in New Delhi on Tuesday. Indian President Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, a recounting of Nambi Narayanan’s real-life experience, won the Best Film award. Indian actor R. Madhavan collected the award himself.
Allu Arjun was honored with the Best Actor award for Pushpa: The Rise. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon shared the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi, respectively.
Pallavi Joshi and Pankaj Tripathi received the Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor awards for The Kashmir Files and Mimi, respectively.
Veteran composer A.R. Rahman was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award.
In a big win for RRR, S.S. Rajamouli’s film won multiple awards, including Best Music Direction, Best Choreography, and Best Special Effects.
Held annually, the National Film Awards are the most prestigious awards in the country. The awards aim at encouraging the production of films of aesthetic and technical excellence and social relevance.
